Terms and conditions
Payment
Payment is to be made through SumUp; via bank transfer, payment link or in person card tapping as indicated on the order confirmation or through agreement with James at his discretion.
Payment will be accepted by debit card, credit card (Visa, MasterCard), or charge card (American Express) which carry their own terms. All credit and charge card transactions are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. We may need to contact you again to verify details before we deliver, and will not be held responsible for any delay so caused.
Contract
At the point at which your payment is received by us a legally binding contract will exist between you and the Company, but we reserve the right to amend or refuse any order up to the point of dispatch, and you have cancellation rights as set out below. If we need to amend your order we will always contact you before proceeding with the sale.
In registering on the site or placing any order for alcohol you confirm that you are over 18. No contract shall exist between us and anyone under 18 who attempts to order or to take delivery of alcohol. If our drivers are in any doubt about this they are instructed not to leave the goods and the sale will be cancelled.
Pricing and Discounts
Whilst we make every effort to ensure correct pricing, mistakes can occur. If a product is accidentally offered at an incorrect price, we reserve the right to refuse service at the incorrect price and will contact you to see if you wish to proceed with the sale at the correct price.
If we make a time-limited offer, any date given will be a guide only and we will not be obliged to fulfil orders up to that date. We reserve the right to change any price or offer without notice.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
If you have special delivery requirements for your event e.g. by a specific date, or deliver to a neighbour if out - please add them to the delivery instructions during checkout and we will endeavour to fulfil them within reason (and our standard delivery terms.)
DELIVERY TIMES:
We cannot specify exact delivery times, but if you have a particular request or deadline to meet, do let us know by giving us a call or sending an email to james@amershamwine.com and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.
Acceptance
You will be deemed to have accepted the goods as delivered and in fulfilment of your order unless we hear from you within three days of receiving delivery, and you will not be entitled to reject them thereafter except as set out below.
Cancellation and Complaints
For Private events
A 50% deposit will secure your booking. The remainder of the event to be paid 14 days prior.
We request final guest numbers to be confirmed 14 days prior. This allows us to base the final invoice on confirmed numbers and for the event to be settled 100% prior to the date.
For Pop-up events
Cancelling tickets: please let us know a minimum of 7 days prior to the scheduled event, so we can release the space. We can reschedule up to 2 times. Reschedule is allowed for within the next 3 months after the original date and if there is a date that you’re interested in, we can check availability. Should you wish to reschedule more than 2 times, then we reserve the right to refuse future ticket requests and will refund at our discretion.
Quality Charter
The Amersham Wine Company does its utmost to make sure that wines are delivered to you in the best possible condition.
There is always an element of risk in the purchase of older fine wines as their condition is inevitably variable. The prices at which we offer these to you reflect our assessment of condition.
We undertake proper safekeeping and storage of wines in our possession and act in good faith when purchasing wine, but we will not be responsible for the state and condition of wines or whether the wine corresponds to the qualities which might be expected from its description. Wines that have been simply kept too long or mistreated will not be refunded. At our complete discretion, we will consider replacing the remainder of any other case sold which is not drinkable.
Refunds will be made to the credit card used for the original purchase after deducting 5% of the invoice total to cover our costs, including order processing and delivery.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Special Terms
We will notify you as to any special terms before you confirm any order. Placing an order following such notification will constitute acceptance of any special terms of which we have notified you.
Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure to meet our obligations occasioned by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Severance
Any of these Terms and Conditions which is or may be void or unenforceable shall to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability be deemed severable and shall not affect any other Term or Condition.
